KPIs – Key performance indicators

The most common indicators for measuring production performance include:

• Pareto of downtime and micro-downtime,
• efficiency of operators,
• efficiency of setters,
• PPH, hourly performance,
• cycles,
• BGE – genealogy of the work order,
• parts traceability.

OEE – Overall equipment efficiency

The efficiency of production facilities is the primary indicator for comparing production performance. The OEE indicator is designed to identify problem areas where production lags behind standard times. To evaluate plant efficiency, MES PHARIS offers a wide range of indicators, which are mainly:

• OEE, TEEP,
• utilization, performance, quality,
• MTTR, MTBF.

MES PHARIS works with work calendars to define the availability of equipment and personnel in shifts. The availability of operators not only enters into the evaluation of production, but is also a limiting resource in production planning and scheduling.  

Production Timeline

The timeline is one important tool that has been shown to help increase OEE. It is a dynamic graphical component that makes production status transparent. It compares the real machine operation with the input discipline from operators and adjusters. It effectively displays discrepancies between the machine run and the input information via the production terminal. For a user-selected group of machines, the system allows graphical display of two lines for each machine:

• machine running line – real cycles automatically collected from the machine,
• production line – machine status, events (production, downtime, set up…), downtime, operator, deviations, inspection, production order, operation, schedule, etc.

Reporting system

MES PHARIS has an integrated application for user-generated reports, which offers a standard set of the most used reports as well as user-generated custom reports. Typical reports include:
